Meagan Hope's first full-length album, Good Mourning, comes after her first release in 2005. "It sounds like the Laurel Canyon scene of the 1970's smashed 90's alternative grunge. "

Meagan started her career in the local Portland, Oregon music scene at the end of 2002 and quickly became known for producing concerts, booking and promotion. She realized her soul was empty because she stepped off the stage to be on the business side of the music industry. Now, she's stepping back onto the stage and with great feedback with her new album, Good Mourning. 

"It only took 17 years to create this follow-up album, but that's okay! I'm not starting over but I'm starting right now," says Meagan.

Good Mourning is a 10-song album that takes you along a therapeutic journey with grief and the intention of healing and moving forward. She felt a calling to write this album, and she hadn't written music in years. But she was going through what so many went through in 2020, called a spiritual awakening. Her story is within each one of these songs. But Meagan needed help writing these songs and a producer. She knew just who to call to produce and write the album with her and that was Kevin Hahn (Stone in Love, Beat Division, Kleveland, and more).

The sound and genres of the album is much like a record from the 1960’s where the sound and story takes you all over the place. From her song “Predator/Prey,” (sounds like a 90's grunge song) is about some of her darkest moments in the music industry. She  then has a tribute song to her music idol, Ray Manzarek of The Doors, called “Ray of Light," that sounds like a Doors song. The full-length album is dynamic and full of nostalgic sounds that will have you curious if this album was created in the 70’s, 90’s or today. As Meagan puts it, “It’s a rebirth of me, I’m reintroducing myself to me, and to the world.”

Meagan can play with her 6-piece band (Meagan Hope Band) or as a duo or listening room style with 4-5 musicians. They play originals and some 60's and 90's cover rock and alternative. When Meagan plays live you can see her with her band and they usually play a 1-2 hours set depending on the venue, festival or event.  Her full band can play 3-hours.
